Data Collection and Usage
What Data We Collect
ChromaFlow Pro does NOT collect, transmit, or share any personal data. The Extension operates entirely locally within your browser.
Data Stored Locally
The Extension uses Chrome's storage.local API to save the following data exclusively on your device:
- Color preferences: Your currently selected color (HSL values).
- Recent colors: Up to 10 recently used color values.
- Saved colors: Colors you manually save to your library.
- Saved palettes: Color palettes you manually save to your library.
- Gradient settings: Your gradient builder configuration (type, angle, color stops).
- Contrast checker values: Foreground and background colors used in the contrast checker.
- Harmony type preference: Your last selected color harmony mode.
All of this data is stored locally on your device using the Chrome Storage API. None of this data is ever transmitted to any external server, third party, or remote endpoint.
Temporary Data
When using the eyedropper (color picker) feature, the Extension temporarily captures a screenshot of the currently visible browser tab to allow pixel-level color selection. This screenshot:
- Exists only in memory during the picking session.
- Is immediately discarded after a color is selected or the picker is cancelled.
- Is never saved to disk, transmitted, or stored in any persistent way.
Permissions
The Extension requests the following browser permissions:
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| storage | Save your color preferences, library, and settings locally on your device. |
| activeTab | Access the currently active tab only when you explicitly click the eyedropper tool, to capture a screenshot for color picking. |
| scripting | Inject the color picker overlay into the active page when you use the eyedropper tool. |
Data Sharing
ChromaFlow Pro does NOT:
- Collect any personally identifiable information (PII).
- Track your browsing history or behavior.
- Send any data to external servers or third parties.
- Use analytics, telemetry, or tracking tools.
- Display advertisements.
- Monetize user data in any way.
Data Retention
Since all data is stored locally on your device:
- Data persists until you clear your browser data or uninstall the Extension.
- You can clear all Extension data at any time through Chrome's settings.
- Uninstalling the Extension automatically removes all locally stored data.
Third-Party Services
ChromaFlow Pro does NOT use any third-party services, libraries, APIs, SDKs, or external resources. The Extension is entirely self-contained with no network requests.
Security
All data stored by ChromaFlow Pro resides locally on your device within Chrome's secure storage sandbox. No data is transmitted over the network, eliminating risks associated with data interception or unauthorized remote access.
Children's Privacy
ChromaFlow Pro does not knowingly collect any data from children under the age of 13. Since the Extension does not collect any personal data from any user, it is compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the Extension after any modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
